Prashanti, house of Silk Cottons, the boutique renowned for its hand oven Silk Cotton Sarees is located in the heart of the city in Mylapore, Chennai. It was started nearly 25 years by Mrs. Malathi Muralidharan as a just small shop and over period of time it has grown to this level which has been recently refurbished showroom, just over 1500 sqft.

They have always concentrated on the mix of cotton with silk to belnd the rich look with easy to wear. It showcases Prashanti's signature Silk Cotton and Poly Cotton Sarees and Salwar Fabrics, whose exquisite designs and colours are richly complemented by the spacious, elegant, teak interiors.

Prashanti's Silk Cottons which are rigorously tested to meet the highest quality standards - offers its patrons an affordable, comfortable and maintenance free alternative to expensive, heavy, traditional silks. They have also opened in Malleswaram 17th cross – Bangalore to cater to the needs to growing markets who have shown a lot of interest in their type of varieties. The shop is ably managed by her Brother-in-law Mr Sundar who had rich experience in the industry and also good taste for the customer interaction as well as articulate to the extent to capture the hearts of the esteemed customers.

VIVAHAM - The exclusive wedding collection, comprising of sarees in deep jewel tones and exotic shot colours, with traditional Korvai borders, Vaira oosi patterns and tissue pallus.

VAIBOHAM - These elegant silk cotton sarees, ideal as wedding give aways, feature meenakari borders (zari work interlaced with thread embroidery) and rich pallus. PRIEM - Hand block printed and elegantly embroidered silk cotton sarees, these designer creations are perfect for an evening out.

Story of Thiruvidanthai Temple

The third incarnation of Mahavishnu is in the form of a boar called Varaha. There are many shrines dedicated to Varaha and one such temple is Thiruvidanthai, near Mahabalipuram. The presiding deity is Lord Lakshmi Varaha and his divine consort is Komalavalli Thayar. The temple is rich in puranic lore. St Anthony Shrine’s humble origin dates back to the year 1997 when on 24th February, the Catholic residents of Palkalainagar, Palavakkam, enthusiastically erected a thatched shed in honour of St. Anthony with permission and blessings from the late Archbishop of Madras-Mylapore, Most Rev.
