Changing Trends in Fine Arts

In the fast changing world, the arts and culture has also undergone some change in the styles. As we talk about fine arts which is vast subject to deal in a small article. We all know that it is spread from Music, dance, drama, films & lot of other cultural activity. To understand a little more about the fine art in the human life – it was developed as a source of the mind diversion from the regular activity that was being carried out by them. It helped in having better mind control, relaxation of the mind, bit of humour & entertainment with also some of the kind delivering a message to the mankind and some of them to the society.

We will take a look into the fine arts with a special mention towards music both the classical as well light version. Today we have a lot of opportunity available for the younger generation to perform in many stages. This has created many openings in the various stages for more performance from artistes as a platform for improvement.

With so much scope for the performance for the younger generation in the various stages today that is available, you expect a lot of more out of them. Further to that with the kind of music classes being organized in each city, more of knowledge base is thrown open to all it is expected to have an improved performance to the previous generation.

Today the change is that more and more people are coming to the front and are giving it a shot at these kinds which was a lost in the in-between period. Even though we do have to accept the fact that changes are always welcome and also good sign for the emancipated development of the arts.

But still critics will always have their say that even though we have more in numbers in terms of performing artistes and stages which means more shows, more of entertainment for the audience. It is very strange that with the number of performing artistes have increased; conversely the quality of the performances has not gone below what we have seen in the yesteryears. It would have been nice we have half the numbers and better performances in terms of improvement by least a quarter better than previous era. We have been made to feel that maybe a touch of business attitude has also got crept into the minds of the artistes which have led to the fall in the quality of the music being rendered in the today’s generation. In the yesteryears you would have privilege of musicians experimenting new raga compositions, also exploring good swarakalpana with nice neraval in accordance with music manodharma. In today’s music world we rarely get to see such brilliance from the artistes.

This is not deplore today’s music and talk high about the yesteryears but would thought provoking for the upcoming in the future who could think and take a leaf out of the book from the yesteryears which will be undoubtedly called the golden era of the Indian Music.
