Healthy Baby Contest 2008

Vidya Ratna PTS Matriculation School had organized a “Healthy Baby Contest 2008” in their campus on 17th February.
The function was presided over by the Mrs. Revathy Shankaran, also other important guest of honour in the dais Dr. Malathi Sathyasekaran, other doctors to assist in the assessment of the healthy babies.
The function was opened by inaugural address by the Mrs Subbulakshmi ,Sr Prinicpal of the school and then Chief Guest had come into the audience and started with nice peppy talk with a lot of focus towards working mothers with good informative speech with a mention towards children upbringing. The highlight of the speech was that “This is not a contest, but an occasion for the parents to be with their children and see them in their age group. Also that for every Mother their own kid is the healthiest of the one”
This contest was organized for age groups of 0-1-2-3-4 yrs, each group prizes were given away by the chief guest.
A magic show by the popular artiste Mr Chaplin Ravi kept the entire audience spellbound and a lot of children actively participated.
Adyar Anandha Bhavan had put up a Food stall with good mouth-watering eateries for catering to people from all walks of life. SBI also had a stall for the Insurance scheme with specially highlighting towards the children insurance plans.
The event was mainly sponsored by Shanti’s – the Garment shop who had given momentos to members in the dais. SBI also had lent good support in the event.

S Varsha 2.Tammojit Chaterjee 3. H Sanjay, age group of 3-4 Yrs: 1. Shriya Srikrishnan 2. S Shruthi 3. M Ayush.
Some play items were also organized to keep them engaged during the event. In all the event ended on a fine note by the vote of thanks by Mrs Vijayalakshmi Ravikumar thanking you all those who made this event a success by their presence.

Story of Thiruvidanthai Temple

The third incarnation of Mahavishnu is in the form of a boar called Varaha. There are many shrines dedicated to Varaha and one such temple is Thiruvidanthai, near Mahabalipuram. The presiding deity is Lord Lakshmi Varaha and his divine consort is Komalavalli Thayar. The temple is rich in puranic lore. Sage Kalava, believed to have 360 daughters, lived at this place which was an agraharam those days (place where Brahmins live). To get his daughters married was a Herculean task and this he surrendered to the Lord Mahavishnu, known for his benevolence, assumed the form of a Brahmachari (bachelor) and visited. St Anthony Shrin, Palavakkam Chennai

St Anthony Shrine’s humble origin dates back to the year 1997 when on 24th February, the Catholic residents of Palkalainagar, Palavakkam, enthusiastically erected a thatched shed in honour of St. Anthony with permission and blessings from the late Archbishop of Madras-Mylapore, Most Rev. Dr. Arul Das James, and under the spiritual guidance of Rev. Fr. Vincent Chinnadurai, then Parish Priest of St. Joseph's Church, Erukanchery.From 27th February, 1997 onwards, Rev. Fr. P.M.
